Hi, welcome at my blog!
My name is José Visser. In the last century I was born in the city Utrecht in the Netherlands. Nowadays my husband and I live near ‘s-Hertogenbosch, with one dog and two cats. Our two children have moved out.
My father taught me to knit when I was 5 years old. My teacher at primary school did the rest. She learnt me knitting, crochet and sewing by hand.
After an education “Textile Design” I studied to become a dressmaking Teacher. Then I started my own company as a designer and dressmaker in the fashion industry. I started with female fashion, then children’s clothing and then I worked as a designer of wedding dresses.
I love to crochet, knit, felt, gardening, doing home improvements and so many other things.
A few years ago I fell in love with crochet again. I started to make my own designs and to write patterns for these designs. I sell these patterns at both my Etsy and Ravelry shop.
I’m eager to learn new techniques and to try new designs, of which the inspiration frequently arises when I’m taking a shower. I have designed several patterns tapestry crochet and I made several tutorials about the technique. And as an opposite of tapestry, which is a rather geometric and clean style, I also like freeform crochet. When I do this form of crochet I don’t have any plan, I only have my balls of yarn in different colours and thickness. This is challenging!
In my home town I give workshops in knitting and crochet. I love it when I manage to learn other people techniques I like too.
